Situated in the city of Rome, in an age-old park
adorned with many fountains, this ancient residence
takes its name from the castle that was built in the
year 1400 by the Marquis Francesco Crescenzi on the site
of an ancient tower dated 1100. Great artists such as
Claude Lorrain and
Nicolas Poussin were inspired by this spot and often
portrayed it in their famous landscape paintings, to the
extent that the valley below, known as the ‘Pussino
Valley’, has become, thanks to its natural configuration,
the
Parco di Roma Golf
Club.
An enchanting road through the woods leads to the castle,
the private residence of Princess Sofia Borghese Ferrari
Sardagna di Neuburg and Hohenstein, the daughter of
Prince Scipione Borghese, a direct descendent of Pope
Paul V.
The family flag flies from one of the castle’s towers. Donna
Sofia has cleverly and lovingly returned this enchanting
place to life, opening the courtyards for exclusive
events and a number of the outbuildings
for friends who wish to stay here.
